In Year 6, we have been writing our own setting descriptions about the Amazon Rainforest, linking to our current Geography unit. The children have worked hard to include fantastic figurative language, engaging the senses to bring the rainforest to life. Through vivid descriptions, rich vocabulary, and powerful imagery, their writing makes the reader feel as if they are walking beneath the towering trees, hearing the chorus of wildlife, and breathing in the damp, earthy air of the rainforest.
