Exploring States of Matter in Science

Year 4 have been investigating States of Matter in Science, exploring key processes such as melting, freezing, condensation, and evaporation. The class experimented with water in its different states and took their learning further by testing how different liquids and substances react to freezing and melting. They observed and recorded their findings as they explored barbecue sauce, hand sanitiser, water, washing-up liquid, cooking oil, and malt vinegar—discovering which would freeze and how they changed as they melted. A fascinating hands-on experiment!
