The children used atlases to find the countries and capital cities of the United Kingdom. Along with this, the children compared towns and the countryside, noticing the differences in the landscapes and how people live in each area. They also learnt about famous landmarks, like Big Ben and Edinburgh Castle, and discussed their importance. This helped them understand more about the United Kingdom and its countries.
