Tony North - Greek Warfare Day

Year 4 had an incredible experience during our Greek Warfare Day, led by author and historian Tony North. The day was centred around learning about Ancient Greece, with a particular focus on the famous Marathon War—a pivotal battle where the Greek army's innovative phalanx formation helped them defeat the larger Persian forces. The children spent the day creating replica helmets inspired by those worn by the Greek and Athenian armies, as well as crafting shields designed to protect soldiers from Persian arrows. It was a hands-on, immersive day, full of learning and creativity. A huge thank you to Tony North for bringing history to life for the class!
