Stone Age Enrichment Day
To ignite our History cycle ‘How did Britain change between the beginning of the Stone Age and the end of the Iron Age?’ Year 3 spent the day living as Nomads! We foraged for food, played a hunting game, made our own flour by grinding seeds and also gutted a fish. We finished the day by using flints to build our own fire and toasting bread that was made with the flour we had previously worked so hard to grind. It was delicious!
Here are some quotes from the children about their experience:
“We learnt all about the Stone Age and did really exciting things like gut a fish. I learnt how to grind seeds into flour. “
“I learnt how to use local resources to build a fire and I really enjoyed learning how to be a Nomad!”
