Science - Digestion
Recently, as part of our exploration of the digestive system, our class embarked on a unique food tasting lesson. Armed with wafers, chocolate, and mints, our budding scientists embarked on a sensory journey to understand the initial stages of digestion. However, there was a twist – the children were not allowed to chew the food items! Instead, they were encouraged to let the enzymes in their mouths naturally break down the food, simulating the first step in the digestive process. Through this interactive experience, the class gained a deeper understanding of how our bodies process food and extract nutrients. This lesson not only reinforced scientific concepts but also sparked curiosity and excitement for further exploration.
