Y2 Rock Pool Experience

To ignite our learning for our new Geography cycle, Y2 had the exciting visit from Aqualease. They were able to bring a rock pool from the British Isles into the classroom! We learnt that Rock pools are a unique habitat. During low tide, the sea unveils a plethora of interesting species left behind in rocky levels, each one equipped to cope and adapt to constantly changing environments.

Y2 were able to enjoy two and a half hours off fascinating facts, combined with the chance to get up close and personal with rock pool species such as starfish, sea anemones, spider crab, hermit crab, spider crab, shore crab and sea urchins. The children demonstrated a great enthusiasm and gained valuable knowledge!
